National team

The Red Flamingos

The national team for players with an amputation or a limb difference. If you want to play at the highest level in Belgium, this is where you play.

Who we are

In red, with flamingos on the crest

The Red Flamingos represent Belgium on the international stage. The name refers to the flamingo, a bird that stands effortlessly on one leg — the very image on our crest.

The squad trains monthly in Tubize and gathers for camps in the run-up to tournaments. Players come from clubs all over the country: if you train at a club and want to take the step, you can be called up.

Recognition

Recognised by the RBFA

Since 2015 UEFA has recognised amputee football as a full football discipline. The Royal Belgian Football Association followed and recognised the sport in Belgium as well. The Red Flamingos therefore play under the same flag as any other Belgian team.
